Bank statement converters for UK accountants, compared.

We make StatementPro, so read this knowing that. Every fact about another tool below comes from that provider's own website as published on 21 October 2026, linked so you can check it, and prices change. Each tool is good at something; we say what.

What to compare

  • Price per page, not per plan: plans count pages, credits, sheets or documents differently.
  • Whether it checks its own output against the statement's printed totals and running balance, and what it tells you when it can't.
  • Whether it reads your clients' banks well, including multi-line layouts and scanned statements.
  • The files it gives you, and whether they import cleanly into the software you use.
  • What happens to the statements afterwards: where they're stored, and for how long.

DocuClipper

Built for accountants, lenders and financial professionals, with broad US coverage. Annual-billed plans are published in pounds: Starter, 60 pages a month at £16.24 (about 27p a page); Business, 640 pages at £77.91 (about 12p a page). A 14-day trial of up to 120 pages.

It publicly describes a balance check — opening balance plus deposits less withdrawals equals the closing balance, with mismatches flagged before export. Exports include Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX and QIF, with direct connections to QuickBooks Online and Xero, plus an API. Its security page says data is kept while you subscribe and deleted 90 days after cancelling.

Suits you if you need a direct push into QuickBooks Online or Xero, an API, or US bank coverage.

Dext

A full bookkeeping platform — receipts, invoices, supplier statements — with bank statement extraction as part of it. The UK Business plan (£24.17 a month) includes 10 sheets of bank statement extraction; more is an add-on from £10 a month or 25p per document. Exports are CSV files formatted for Xero, QuickBooks or Sage; Dext says bank statements can't be published directly to accounting software. It quotes up to 24 hours for processing, and documents are kept for years in its Vault.

Suits you if you want receipts and invoices handled in the same place as statements.

AutoEntry (Sage)

Extraction for invoices, receipts and bank statements, owned by Sage. Priced in credits: a bank statement page costs 3 credits, including blank pages, so the Bronze plan (£15.45 for 50 credits) covers about 16 pages, close to 93p a page; larger plans bring that down. Exports include Excel and CSV and dedicated formats for Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50 and Sage Accounting.

Suits you if you're on Sage and want statements, invoices and receipts coded in one tool.

ProperConvert (ProperSoft)

Desktop software for Windows and Mac: statements are processed on your own computer and never uploaded. $19.99 a month per user for unlimited pages, and it shows a balance check where the statement prints balances. The widest set of file formats here (QBO, IIF, QFX, QIF, OFX, CSV, Excel); its examples are US banks.

Suits you if you want everything processed on your own machine, or very high volumes at a flat price.

Hubdoc (Xero)

Hubdoc is included with Xero for bills and receipts. Its bank statement extraction is available in the US and Canada only, and Xero has said no work is planned to extend it.

StatementPro

Built for UK statements, with purpose-built readers for HSBC, first direct, Lloyds, Revolut, Starling, Tide and Allica; other banks and scans are read by AI and checked the same way. Every statement is checked against its printed totals and running balance, and the result says whether it reconciled, didn't, or couldn't be checked — those are kept apart. The Excel workbook adds the analysis brokers and accountants build by hand: income concentration, recurring commitments, end-of-day balance over time, and existing debt and what it costs. Import files for Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage.

Free for 10 pages a month; Solo £29 for 150 pages (about 19p a page), Broker £49 for 400 (about 12p), Firm £139 for 1,200 (about 12p). The PDF isn't kept, and extracted data is stored in London for 90 days by default.

Suits you if your work is UK bank statements — catching up records, year ends, mortgage and lending cases — and you want each one checked against the bank's own figures before it reaches the books, the analysis already done, and a file that imports cleanly into Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent or Sage.
